Hatha Yoga Classes at Clough Bottom
At Clough Bottom we run Hatha Yoga or 'Yoga of Postures' classes led by Janet Barnes (BSYA) of Flexi Ladies Yogo. With "HA" meaning "SUN" and "THA" meaning "MOON", Hatha Yoga is commonly translated as the yoga that brings union "of the pairs of opposites".
The most popular branch of yoga in the west, Hatha Yoga used physical poses of Asana, breathing techniques (or Pranayama), and meditation to achieve better health and spirituality.
This thoughtful practice promotes a mental and physcial flexibility that can influence all areas of life - helping to create a sense of union in body, mind and spirit.

Your Yoga Teacher
Our resident teacher and yoga practitioner is Janet Barnes. After discovering the benefits of practising yoga had on her own health, Janet decided to study yoga with the British School of Yoga (BSYA) in order to teach yoga to others. Janet has been teaching yoga at all levels - practice level, beginners and intermediates, and is trained in pre-natal, child, adult, and post-natal yoga.
Our Location
Clough Bottom Farm is situated in the heart of the Trough of Bowland. A haven of tranquility, our rural setting is beautiful, peaceful and totally conducive to meditation and thoughtful practice. In summer months your classes could be held outside in a stunning setting overlooking Pendle Hill (weather permitting). In cooler months, your yoga practice is held in our Middle Barn.
Our Facilities
Unlike most other yoga class facilities, our 17th century, sympathetically converted barn is packed with original features including exposed beams and stone walls, yet comfortably equipped with underfloor heating. During the warmer months we open our large sliding class doors to 'bring the outside in', allowing students to enhance their yoga experience with audible sensory stimulants of the natural environment - bird song, rustling of wind through the trees and more. Adjoining the Middle Barn is our garden room dining hall where complimentary drinks are available (cool, filtered water, cold and hot drinks). We also have a shower and rooms available for changing.
Yoga classes are held at Clough Bottom every Thursday evening 7.00pm-8.15pm. Cost per session is £5.00.
