If you're looking for a different kind of wedding reception, one that is unique, peaceful and romantic then you might want to consider holding it at Clough Bottom.

A Clough Bottom wedding is about as far removed from the ‘traditional' wedding venue you could possibly imagine. We are not a large, faceless hotel that treats wedding receptions with uniform regularity and a conveyor belt frequency; we are a small family-owned business that is lucky enough to work in the most beautiful converted stone buildings, in the most stunning of rural surroundings, deep in the heart of the Trough of Bowland. 

We pride ourselves on providing a friendly, efficient and tailor made service that is flexible and accommodating. You can choose whether to take advantage of a complete, all inclusive reception with function room hire and our own catering for the entire event, or alternatively choose just room hire, where you bring in your own caterers and other service providers.

We have two very special, converted period barns here at Clough Bottom - both perfect options for a country-style wedding reception and celebration. Depending on the size of your reception, the season and the ambience you are looking to achieve, our private barn hire includes either The Middle Barn, situated in the heart of the farm, or The Out Barn, situated ‘away from it all' in a fabulous, rural location.

The Out Barn

A popular Summer option (and perfect for larger numbers) is to hire our Out barn that has spectacular views of open countryside and Pendle Hill and have a marquee on the lawn in front of it. Situated in the most idyllic of settings it has wonderful rural views and is the perfect venue for a very special country-style wedding. The detached, characterful barn has one double aspect downstairs room which can accommodate up to 50 standing or 30 seated on tables of 6. It has two dining rooms upstairs with refectory style dining furniture and its own kitchen and w.c.s. For larger numbers, then a marquee on the lawn is the perfect option.

The Middle Barn

For a smaller, more intimate wedding reception then our Middle Barn might be the venue for you. This stunning 17^th century barn is packed with original features including flagged floor, exposed stone walls and beams, and has a first floor mezzanine and its own dining room with bi-fold glazed doors opening up on to a graveled patio area.  For a more formal wedding breakfast, it can seat a maximum of 60, for a more informal reception - perhaps with a buffet - the Middle Barn can accommodate 100 comfortably.

Catering  and Food From the Farm

You can choose when and where you have your wedding breakfast, as well as who provides it. If you would like us to provide the catering, our accomplished chef Rachael will provide you with ideas and menus for a cold or hot buffet, or a served, sit down 3 course meal. Using only fresh and seasonal local produce (including our own farm and organic produce) and working in close collaboration with you, we will deliver the menu of your choice. Alternatively you may wish to bring in your own caterers, or do a bit of both - and have a formal, served sit-down breakfast followed by a hog-roast (for example) for the evening catering. We will happily discuss all alternatives and work with you to give you exactly what you want.

Your Wedding Photography

Situated in 360 acres of Lancashire farmland, we have some stunning back-drops for your wedding photography. You could use the formal house gardens, or have your photos taken in the orchard, or amongst our stunning mature trees. You might want to have some taken on our old bridge, or overlooking Pendle Hill.  It's completely up to you!  You and your photographer are welcome to visit us and choose the perfect location for your wedding photos at your convenience.

Clough Bottom Farm Cottages - For Guests of the Bride and Groom

An added benefit of booking your wedding reception at Clough Bottom is the availability of on-site accommodation for you and your guests. As part of the function room hire, up to 10 of your guests can enjoy a 3 night stay in 2 of our award-winning holiday cottages - Woodcutter's Cottage and Saddle Barn. Situated next door to each other, opposite the Middle Barn and in the heart of the farm, each is individually designed and beautifully equipped, with its own private, outdoor seating area and BBQ. Each cottage comes with a Welcome Hamper containing tea, coffee, home made Tea bread, jam and chutney, milk and Lancashire cheese. All towels and linen are included as well as complimentary toiletries in the bathrooms. Food from the Farm ready meals can be pre-ordered along with Lancashire Breakfast Hamper's to make the run up to the big day (and days following) as easy, relaxing and stress-free as possible!
