Natural tranquillity is the essence of Clough Bottom in the Ribble Valley, Lancashire, and how better to experience this than some well-earned ‘time-out’ in one of our comfortable holiday cottages.
Stylishly furnished and equipped with every modern facility, these lovingly
converted stone-built farm buildings are perfect for small groups of family
and friends.
Each of our three cottages has it’s own feel and charm: whether you’re looking for a sociable open plan lay-out, a picturesque patio area overlooking the ‘babbling’ brook, or good-size garden where your children can safely play. The interior of each cottage has been designed to reflect the surroundings in which it rests, with the focus remaining on comfort, style and luxury. The sumptuous feel of the cottages is enhanced by the special attention to detail. Hand chosen antiques and designer soft furnishings add to the beautiful aesthetics, while we ensure that you have many restful hours of sleep in comfort on the luxury ‘Sealy’ beds, which grace each bedroom.
Guests arrive to a welcome basket comprising tea, coffee, sugar, milk and shortbread biscuits. Fresh bed linen and towels are provided along with a selection of complementary toiletries. There is also a shared laundry room featuring a washer/dryer with free detergent.
In the summer season, you will want to make full use of the outdoor seating area, and we can provide a complimentary quality Bar-Be-Quick Instant BBQ for alfresco dining. This is available from the office.
For those with little VIPs, we can provide travel cots and ensure your children’s safety with specially fitted stair-gates.
If you’re looking for a traditional style retreat, you won’t find anything
better than the Grade II listed Coach House, which has been lovingly
restored to retain the original features and character. The cosiness and
quality of this residence, which was originally the place where the horses,
carriage and stable hands used to live who serviced the ‘big house’, makes
it easy to see why it holds a silver tourist board award. In a secluded
setting with its own private lane running parallel to the stream, the
approach to the cottage is a welcoming sight with the orchard and vegetable
garden just beyond.
The original carriage entrance to the cottage, adds to its charismatic
charm, and opens the downstairs out into the open-plan kitchen, lounge and
dining area. We have teamed antiques with elegant fabrics from Sandersons to
enhance the appeal of this quaint rural hideaway.

The largest of the three cottages has been described as both contemporary and effortlessly modern, but it retains its natural country-style charm. The most sociable of cottages, the wooden floored open plan lounge/dining room features a generous pine table which is perfect for entertaining up to ten people for an occasion of fine dining. Guests continue the evening by retiring to the comfortable sofas in friendly horseshoe format and put the world to rights over a relaxing bottle of wine. The well-equipped bespoke pitch-pine kitchen features all modern amenities including dishwasher, large built in fridge, freezer, electric cooker and microwave to make your stay relaxing and hassle free.

As the oldest established cottage on site, dating back to the 16th century,
Woodcutter’s Cottage has been thoughtfully decorated to maintain it’s cosy
and quaint feel - an ideal setting to curl up in front of the wood burner
and watch the fire blaze. The combined lounge, dining and kitchen area, is
furnished with classically traditional furniture, and Liberty print
curtaining. The enclosed patio area looks out on the delightful stream and
rolling fields.
