Accessibility and Inclusivity at The Out Barn

The Out Barn is committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and enjoyable experience for all couples and their guests. We understand that every wedding is unique, and we encourage open conversations so we can support a wide range of access needs, preferences, and cultural requirements.

Mobility & Physical Access

Our venue is set within the countryside of the Ribble Valley and includes both indoor and outdoor spaces. We aim to make our facilities as accessible as possible, and we recommend discussing individual requirements with our team when planning your visit or wedding.

We can provide guidance on:

  • Accessible toilet facilities

  • Moveable ramps

  • Parking and drop-off points close to the barn

  • Distances between buildings and spaces across the estate

  • Access to onsite accommodation

As a rural venue, some outdoor areas include natural terrain such as grass, gravel, and woodland paths, which may be uneven in places. We are happy to talk through the layout and suggest suitable arrangements to ensure all guests can participate comfortably.

Neurodiversity & Sensory Considerations

We recognise that weddings can be busy and high-energy environments. Our venue layout, with multiple indoor and outdoor spaces, allows flexibility for guests who may benefit from quieter surroundings.

We can support by:

  • Identifying quieter areas for rest or time away from crowds

  • Allowing early access where possible to help guests familiarise themselves with the setting

  • Working with couples to plan layouts that suit their guests’ needs

Please speak to our team about any specific sensory or neurodiversity-related requirements.

Food, Dietary & Cultural Requirements

We work with experienced catering partners who can accommodate a wide range of dietary needs and preferences.

This includes:

  • Vegetarian, vegan, and plant-based menus

  • Gluten-free and allergen-aware catering

We also welcome conversations around cultural traditions, ceremony preferences, and bespoke wedding formats to ensure your celebration reflects you fully.

LGBTQ+ Inclusion

We are proud to welcome and celebrate all couples. Our team is committed to providing an inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment for LGBTQ+ weddings.

We aim to:

  • Use inclusive and respectful language throughout the planning process

  • Offer flexibility in ceremony structure and traditions

  • Ensure all guests feel comfortable and welcomed throughout their stay

Communication & Additional Support

We are happy to discuss additional requirements to support your guests, including:

  • Use of microphones and sound systems

  • Clear information for guests ahead of the event

If you or your guests have specific needs, we encourage you to contact us in advance so we can make appropriate arrangements wherever possible.

Planning Your Visit

We strongly recommend arranging a visit to The Out Barn to explore the space and discuss any accessibility or inclusion requirements in detail. Our team will be happy to walk through the venue with you and help tailor your wedding plans accordingly.
